ENHOJUST (2021-2022)

For an antiracist environmental and housing justice” (ENHOJUST) is an activist/militant research, which aims at the following:

  • Elaboration of the concept of antiracist environmental and housing justice
    • by building connections between:
      • inadequate housing,
      • toxic environment,
      • racism,
      • rights and justice;
    • to reveal how environmental racism works via constraining people to be housed in toxic areas.
  • Use our knowledge in order to fight for antiracist environmental justice and to create alliances with ecologist groups from Romania and from abroad.

General objectives:

  • To analyze the relationship between inadequate housing and living in a toxic environment from a sociological and legal perspective.
  • To clarify the relationship between the right to live in a healthy environment, and the environmental and housing justice.
  • To change how public actors (social movements, larger public, public policy- makers) are thinking about and are acting around justice in order to promote an understanding of (right to) housing and healthy environment, or housing justice and environmental justice as interconnected issues.
  • To contribute to the creation of national and international alliances for an antiracist environmental and housing justice.
